Hello everybody! One of the things I like to do is set goals. Every morning when I get up, I write down my long term goals and take those long term goals and put them in my wallet. I then write down my daily goals, orient those goals daily towards achieving my long term goals and then take that piece of paper and put it in my pocket. That way, every day I am reinforcing my goals in my head so I can keep my focus and stay on track. So far, this approach has proven to be quite effective and works quite well.
I would like to share some (but not all) of my long term goals with you guys.
1) Get a trade show gig.
2) Lose 10 pounds by December 1st, 2016.
3) Develop stage magic show.
4) Save and invest towards retirement
5) Visit the Magic Castle In Hollywood, California
6) Go To Disney Parks in Orlando, Florida.
7) Vacation To Vermont To Renew marriage vows with wife.
That’s my long term goals that I write out every day and then put in my wallet. I try my best to structure my daily goals and aim my daily goals towards achieving those long term goals. Sometimes this is easier said than done, but I do my best. I do think it’s important to come up with a list of long term goals and then write them down every day so that you never lose sight of your long term objectives. It’s easy to just write down your long term goals one time and just forget about them. But the problem of doing that is that it causes you to lose sight and focus on those long term goals you have set for yourself. I found this article on the benefits of goal setting:
Hello everybody! The weather has been warming up and I have been working hard. I am ready to jump in the swimming pool. I also just bought some new swimming pool googles too! It is a very beautiful day! I also took this picture today using my cell phone:
It’s been a LOOONG TIME since I have jumped in the pool. I keep maintained year round and after all the hard work and sweat and running a business plus keeping this bad boy entertained, it’s time to just relax and have a good time and enjoy the pool! I feel kinda tired right now and my muscles ache. Just been staying incredibly busy and keeping myself busy. I might end up working tonight though but we’ll see what happens.
I think one of my reasons to own a pool is quoted in this article as
Anthony Sylvan Pools writes:
“You Love Relaxing – There is no better place to relax than by a pool or on a float in a pool. It helps you unwind and forget the troubles of work and the stress of everyday encounters. The soothing effects of a pool are almost immeasurable.”
That’s probably my number one reason for owning a pool. Plus so that my friends and family can enjoy it too. I am a sociable person who enjoys having people over and people like to come over when you have a swimming pool. So, when it’s swimming time, I like to have guests come over and hang out too! Wife and I also have a grill we can cook out on too. I usually grill up some chicken tenderloins and smother it with my own hot wing sauce. Very tasty and a great way to spend the day!
One of the important things to me is learning how to be a great leader. I guess it’s important to me because I am running a company. Part of becoming a great leader in my view is learning what it’s like to be a follower and subordinate. I have seen many leaders who have never really spent a great deal of time in a subordinate role and so they don’t understand the world the of the subordinate. I think this is an important perspective to have if you wish to be an effective leader. Plus, when subordinates know you have walked a mile in their shoes they are more likely to respect you because they know you have some empathy for them as well.
I found this article written about the US Navy SEALs. As we all know, the Navy SEALs are a great winning team and their is so much we can learn from them. Here is a link to the article:
If you look at the link it shows a picture of the US Navy SEAL commander whose unit was the most decorated in Iraq. He looks like a big burly guy. Probably lifts a lot of weights. Anyway the article states that his military record is:
Dragan Radovanovic and Richard Feloni writes in “A retired Navy SEAL commander’s 12 rules for being an effective leader:”
“Retired Navy SEAL commander Jocko Willink, left, crouches on a roof during the 2006 Battle of Ramadi in Iraq.
For their service in the 2006 Battle of Ramadi, Navy SEAL Team Three Task Unit Bruiser and its commander Jocko Willink became the most highly decorated special-operations unit of the Iraq War.”
Pretty impressive military record his unit had. The article continues by stating:
Dragan Radovanovic and Richard Feloni writes in “A retired Navy SEAL commander’s 12 rules for being an effective leader:”
“Willink writes that he realized during his 20 years as a SEAL that, ‘Just as discipline and freedom are opposing forces that must be balanced, leadership requires finding the equilibrium in the dichotomy of many seemingly contradictory qualities between one extreme and another.’
By being aware of these seeming contradictions, a leader can ‘more easily balance the opposing forces and lead with maximum effectiveness.'”
So after reading this in the article one of the big lessons about leadership is learning and understanding some important concepts first like discipline and freedom for example. Once those important concepts are learned, you have learn to wisely balance some of these opposed concepts to maximize the effectiveness of your unit or organization that you are working for. So knowing certain specific concepts and understanding them thoroughly and then balancing those concepts wisely is one of the important keys to leadership.
Here is a graphic that appears in the article:
When you look at this graphic of the various concepts a lot of them are paradoxical. It’s kind of like Zen. Are you guys familiar with Zen? Zen is an Asian religion that has some pretty insightful and cool wisdom. I think it originated in ancient China. A lot of the wisdom found in Zen is paradoxical. In Zen much of reality is contradictory and paradoxical. So, you can see, from this graphic, there are contradictory forces at play that can work against each other, and yet, when balanced well against each other, it makes for great leadership. So, it seems, the art of great leadership is a very Zen like concept with many paradoxes!
I hope you guys take the time read over the graphic. I think you will find that the information is very useful. We should all strive to be not just great leaders, but also great followers. So, by learning how to be great followers, we are in essence learning how to become better leaders. You can’t be a great leader unless you have learned what it’s like to have to take orders and follow them.
One of my favorite officers that I served under in the Georgia Army National Guard was a prior enlisted man. He was the most effective officer to be honest in my unit. I don’t say that either just because he was a prior enlisted man. I say that because he did a great job of setting the example and he didn’t treat himself as if he was special or better than anybody else. You know he was in charge and you had to do what he said, but he also took the extra effort to set the example. An important leadership concept is set the example and never ask your subordinates to do something you aren’t willing to do. Those are also some important concepts to know and follow as well. If you do that, you can’t go wrong.
So Looks Like They Have A New Ghostbusters Movie Coming Out!
I was surprised to learn today that their is a new Ghostbusters movie coming out! Pretty cool! I remember back in the 1980s watching the Ghostbusters movies as a kid. I also remember Bobby Brown did a great rap theme song too for Ghostbusters 2. The name of the song was called “On Our Own.” I found that song on YouTube here: Bobby Brown’s “On Our Own” Theme Song Ya ya ya You know it! Ha ha ha ha! I love that song! It was great! In this music video they even show a younger Donald Trump.
So for the new movie it looks like the entire team is going to be all women instead of all men. They also have one guy that will be in the movie playing a character named Kevin. Kevin is played by actor Chris Hemsworth. It looks like Kevin is going to be a pretty funny guy in this movie and will add a lot of comedy to it. This video that interview some of the actors and actresses that will be playing in the movie: Interivew With Cast of Video. According to the video, the character Kevin thinks he is going to be a Ghostbuster but he is not. Nevertheless he tries and he tries to fit in with the girl Ghostbusters. His job though is to answer the telephone and take calls for their business.
This reminds me of the old Ghostbusters where all of them were men and the person answering the telephone for the business was a woman. So, in this new movie, they do a switch where all the crew is women and the person answering the phone is a guy. So, that’s pretty cool because it shows women sort of being empowered and in leading jobs and casts. It shows how things have progressed for this country in my opinion. Women of course don’t enjoy full equality today as their is still equal pay issues that need to be addressed. But I like how they showed women in this movie in a lead role and they are the heroes of this movie. And there is of course no shame in a guy being the one who has to answer the phone once and awhile either. So, I think it was a great take from the movie.
But it sounds like Chris Hemsworth who is playing Kevin is going to play a very important comedy role for this movie and will also help to make this movie. Without his comedy aspect to the movie, the movie just won’t be great. So, he is playing an important role too for the movie.
The actor, Dan Akroyd, who played one of the original Ghostbusters also gave some of his opinions too in this article: Article Where Dan Akroyd Gives His Opinions. Here is what he had to say in Joseph Baxter’s article “How Dan Aykroyd Feels About The New Cast Of Ghostbusters:”
Joseph Baxter writes and quotes Dan Akroyd in his article:
“The Aykroyd family is delighted by this inheritance of the Ghostbusters torch by these most magnificent women in comedy. My great grandfather, Dr. Sam Aykroyd, the original Ghostbuster, was a man who empowered women in his day and this is a beautiful development in the legacy of our family business.”
I complete agree with Dan Akroyd. I think it’s important that women are empowered in our society and I am glad to hear that he comes from a long family line who believes the same thing. According to this article it sounds like it was supposed to be a Ghostbusters 3 movie but it didn’t quite work out that way:
Joseph Baxter writes:
“Originally this project was supposed to be Ghostbusters 3, and had been years in the making with a script written by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg (Bad Teacher, Year One, The Office). Unfortunately, according to anecdotal accounts, Bill Murray, much to Aykroyd’s chagrin, wanted nothing to do with the film – which essentially torpedoed film’s chances of being made. While Aykroyd and the rest of the gang had decided to move forward with the film, the death of Harold Ramis last year was ultimately a fatal blow to the project, despite director, Ivan Reitman’s initial desire to soldier on even after that tragic setback. Thus, Aykroyd giving his blessing to the all-female reboot project seems to be the final culmination of the failed Ghostbusters 3 efforts and his acceptance to move on.”
Really, I think it was time to pass the torch on to a new cast for the Ghostbusters franchise. I don’t think it would have been a good idea to make a Ghostbusters 3 film with the original cast. Eventually, you have to pass the torch to the new generation and I think in this case, it was time. Anyway, I definitely plan on watching the new Ghostbusters movie given that I watched all of the old movies when I was a kid in the 80s. Looking forward to it!
Guys, I have to tell you, today has been a stressful and busy day for me. But I have been getting things done, just trying to get things done by a certain time. Anytime you have a time hack to meet, things can get pretty stressful. I usually try to get most of my blog posts done by 7:00pm every day. So, I am kinda pushing it given it’s almost 6:30pm. This is how I feel like right now!
I had to do a bunch of follow ups and also run an errand today. That’s one thing I hate doing is having to run errands when I have a lot of company things to do. But the errand was a company related matter too though. Still, I prefer to get the things I need to get done in my office finished rather than having to run around doing a bunch of errands. But I’ll do them if they really need to be done.
I was hoping to find a cool article to talk about or comment on but I noticed that most of what was trending was sports. I like sports, but I am not so sure they make for good commentary when I don’t know much about all the players that play in the sports. So, today is going to be one of those days where I talk about what’s going on in my life, which at the moment is not much. Just doing what most people do, working and running my company. Well, most people aren’t running a company but most people are working.
I also had to do the usual pool maintenance too. And as the final part of getting things done, I will need to give the swimming pool it’s weekly scrubbing with the pool brush! You know, one cool thing that has happened to me is that I have been getting some bookings in Huntsville, Alabama. Now, if you know anything about Huntsville, you know it has a space center.
I went to the space center one time when I was in high school a long time ago. It was actually pretty cool and I remember they had a talking robot that seemed pretty advanced in artificial intelligence programming. You could hold a regular conversation with the robot and it was pretty funny. The wife and I plan on visiting the Huntsville, Alabama Space Center when I go to Huntsville to perform for some of my gigs. You can check it out here: Huntsville, Alabama Space And Rocket Center.
I think my wife and I will really enjoy visiting this particular place. I plan to take pictures and I will post them to my blog here for you guys to enjoy! The wife and I are excited! We will work my gigs and then either before or after my gigs, we will take the time to visit the Rocket Center there.
I would like to take the time to thank you for considering my company’s services for your party entertainment needs. My name is William Davenport and I’m the Manager and professional magician for Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. One of the services my company offers is magical entertainment for a children’s birthday party. I am an Atlanta children’s magician. My company also services the state of Georgia and the state of Alabama even though I am an Atlanta children’s magician.
You also check out my Atlanta children’s magician demo video here:
We offer three choices for our clients when it comes to a children’s magic show from out company’s Atlanta children’s magician. The “Great Package,” the “Super Package” and the “Grand Package.”
The “Great Package” includes a 45 minute children’s magic show that will leave the kids laughing, amazed and having a great time! This package also has “Brillo the Dog” as part of my show. “Brillo the Dog” is used as a funny “running gag” throughout my show. He is also a great substitute for a live animal because then parents won’t have to worry about a live animal biting anybody or making a mess inside the house or at your event venue! Meet “Brillo the Dog” down below:
The birthday child also gets to be the magician at the end of the show and perform a magic routine with two other children who volunteer from the audience, and will receive an “Ask the Magic 8 Ball” at the end of the show as a birthday present from William Davenport the magician.
The “Super Package” includes everything in the “Great Package” plus after the 45 minute magic show is over, William Davenport the magician will stay afterwards to do balloon animals for everybody! William will stay as long as needed to where everyone who wants a balloon animal, gets a balloon animal!
The “Grand Package” includes everything in the “Super Package” except at the very end of the 45 minute magic show, William Davenport the magician will float the birthday child on a “flying magic carpet” illusion. This illusion is great for photo opportunities for parents! You can check out a picture to left of this paragraph of my “floating magic carpet” illusion. Below is a picture of the “Floating Magic Carpet Illusion” that I use:
I have been performing as an amateur since I was in high school and professionally for the past four years. I have plenty of experience entertaining children’s birthday parties and know how to keep the children’s attention. This Atlanta children’s magician magic show is a parlor show that takes place in a suitable setting and is good for 30 children or less. I use a small table top that I set up 1 hour prior to my booked time to perform.
This is a fun, interactive and filled with audience participation show! Some of the tricks are also very amazing, even to adults but are designed for children.
A lot of children’s birthday parties hire a clown. Sometimes people prefer to have entertainment that is unique and different. The kids will enjoy themselves as they interact, participate and watch me perform. Not only that, but people want to be entertained by a professional magician who has a personality. The kids want to laugh and have fun.
Your Atlanta children’s magician will provide a birthday party show which will be fun and memorable. He or she will also be a guest of honor in the magic show. Making sure the birthday child feels special on this day is important. Here are some reasons to use my company’s services for your child’s birthday party:
• I eliminate the worry and hassle of having to entertain the children (so you can feel comfortable knowing children are enjoying themselves at the party).
• My show is so great; I entertain and amaze the adults as well as the children!
• You want a performer who is down to earth, people savvy, fun to be around, social and easy to deal with. Booking me is easy and children will enjoy the entertainment way more because I have these qualities.
• Kids will get something similar to a live animal with “Brillo the Dog” without the worries that come with having a live animal at your event, plus they will laugh and behave much better with “Brillo the Dog” being a running gag during the show who rewards lollipops at the end of the show for good behavior!
• As a professional magician and entertainer who holds himself to high standards; I make the performance of magic fun and truly amazing. Kids will get a kick out of watching me perform and be enthralled.
• You want the children at your party to laugh and have fun. They will simply enjoy themselves far more when they are laughing and having fun because of my performance.
• Magic is a very broad field and generally when people think of magic, they think of a big stage with big illusions. However, the best magic is not performed on stage with big expensive illusions. It is performed more up close with great showmanship. The magic happens in a parlor setting and leaves them completely baffled and having more fun at the birthday party.
• I involve the kids in my children’s magic show. Children will feel great because they are the stars of the show.
• My children’s magic show doesn’t require a lot of space or the hassle of setting up big, expensive props. You won’t have to worry about not having enough space for all your guests to mingle and enjoy themselves at the birthday party.
• It’s good to have something different rather than the same old clown. By having a unique and different kind of entertainment at your child’s birthday party, the kids will have some variety and more fun!
• You want to hire a magician who people know is great. My reviews on Thumbtack from happy clients confirm I will do a great job so you won’t have to stress and wonder if the kids will have fun at your birthday party event!
• My company offers a 100% money back guarantee PLUS pays you $50 if you are not satisfied. There is no risk to you and if you are not happy, then your show is free and you get paid!
• I show up 1 hour early, so you won’t have to worry about the entertainment being late or worse, not showing up at all!
• I have a passion and love for the art of magic that shows in my performances. This means you are getting the best entertainment possible.
• The birthday child gets to experience the magic and wonder of being a magician for one magic trick routine at the end of the show! You know he or she will feel recognized and honored on their birthday!
• Kids will enjoy the awesome balloon animals I make after the show which gives you more value for your dollar!
Here is What People Are Saying About My Services!

-Pastor Joe E. Williams Jr.

What Makes Me Different
I offer more than just a money back guarantee. You will find magicians who offer a money back guarantee but not very many who will pay you $50 if you are not satisfied on top of that. Some magicians may offer a magic set for the birthday child as part of their package. I think simplicity works best, so instead, I offer an “Ask the Magic 8 Ball” game toy for the birthday child. In addition I was ranked as Thumbtack’s Top Magician for the year 2015 and 2016 against the competition.
I also use something different than a live animal and yet is similar to an animal. I offer “Brillo the Dog” as part of my show which I introduced to you above:
He is great for a running gag, you won’t have to worry about having a moody live animal at your event biting anybody. You won’t have to worry about having a live animal making a mess at your event venue either. Plus it gives the kids something similar to a live animal. “Brillo the Dog” also rewards kids with lollipops for good behavior at the end of the show! Which helps keep the kids well behaved during the show!
Four Big Reasons to Hire My Company’s Services
1) My company offers a risk free money back guarantee plus pays you $50 if you are not satisfied!
2) I have tons of positive reviews on Thumbtack (58 reviews at the time of this writing) and I am rated 5 stars overall. Every review is a verified review from my actual clients!
3) My show includes “Brillo the Dog” which is not a live animal but similar to an animal. This is a great running gag during my show plus rewards kids for good behavior with lollipops at the end of the show!
4) I was ranked as Thumbtack’s Top Atlanta Magician for 2015 and 2016 against the competition! See the link below for my Thumbtack ranking!
You can also check out my reviews here on Thumbtack: Company Thumbtack Reviews and my Gigmasters reviews: William Davenport Gigmasters Reviews. My children’s magic show is intended for kids between the ages of 4-10 years old (show includes a variety of tricks that would appeal primarily to this age group). The show lasts for 45 minutes. Again, if you want to hire an Atlanta children’s magician then pick up the phone and call now! (478) 213-3991! I hope to entertain your child’s birthday party. Thank you and have an awesome day!

Donald Trump Not Cool With Harriet Tubman On $20 Bill
I mean really? Seriously Donald Trump? Guys, I have to say, when it comes to Donald Trump we are talking about total douchebaggery. I get up this morning and I start reading the news and then their is this article about how Donald Trump is up in arms about Harriet Tubman being put on the $20 bill: MSNBC Article. Doesn’t this guy have better things to do with his life?
So, Donald Trump thinks we should keep a racist, slave owning, responsible for genocide of Native Americans and sending them on the “Trail of Tears” kinda guy on the $20 bill as opposed to putting somebody on the bill who better represents America’s true values who escaped from slavery and then fought against that racist institution and fought for ideals like equality and freedom and respect for others. I mean come on guys, does this make any sense? Of course not! Donald Trump is just a total douchebag for not supporting the removal of Andrew Jackson (or off the front of it) from the $20 bill and putting somebody like Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill who better represents what America is really all about.
For some of you guys who are not history buffs, you can read about Harriet Tubman and Andrew Jackson here:
Anyway, so this article here from MSNBC goes on to say
Perry, Bacon Jr. wrote:
“Donald Trump’s take on the decision to put Harriet Tubman on the front of the $20 bill as “pure political correctness” is symbolic of a style of politics he’s displayed throughout this campaign: at times wary of changes to long-standing American customs and institutions and showing a willingness to take controversial stands on issues that affect women and minorities.”
Really? Pure “political correctness?” Is that what you call it Donald? Get real man! You see, you have to make logical sense first. So, if we look at what American values should be (ie freedom, equality and justice for all) is somebody who fought against the institution of slavery a better match for what our values should be? Or is a racist, slave holding, sending Native Americans on the Trail of Tears fit those values? Gees, I don’t know about you guys, but to me, what makes the most logical sense is that Harriet Tubman matches those values the best. Not Andrew Jackson! So why wouldn’t we be putting her on the $20 bill? She’s earned that honor and she represents what America is all about.
I even took the time to read the comments section of this article with one commenter remarking:
M. Kelly wrote in the comments section:
“As a white working class man, I have much more in common with a black woman than I do with either Trump or Jackson. Replacing a racist president on the 20 dollar bill with a woman, who risked her life for others, sounds good to me.”
You know M. Kelly, I absolutely agree with you 100%. I think a lot of people will find that many of the poor whites that fought in the Civil War had much more in common with African American slaves of those times. Yet, it’s sad to see that many of these poor whites had been conned by the slave owners of the time into a fighting a war for the preservation of slavery when in fact, all along they had much more in common with the slaves than the slave owners. And that’s the thing that’s crazy. How slave owners conned poor whites into fighting for their interests. But hey, the slave owners weren’t stupid. It wasn’t in their best interests to have poor whites and slaves working together to improve their lives.
So Donald Trump goes on by saying:
Perry, Bacon Jr. wrote:
“I think Harriet Tubman is fantastic,” Trump said in an interview on NBC’s Today Show on Thursday. “I would love to — I would love to leave Andrew Jackson and see if we can maybe come up with another denomination. Maybe we do the $2 bill or we do another bill.”
Nah Donald, we already got rid of the $2 bill. This is like the lamest suggestion I have ever seen. The Donald is trying to have his cake and ice cream both by trying to please everybody and still having or keeping things his way. It’s just simply time to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill. She represents what American values much better than Andrew Jackson.
Last night I had a great time working my Applebees restaurant gig. If you want to know the best and coolest restaurant to be it’s at Applebees in Perry GA: Applebees in Perry, Georgia. I have performed a new magic trick as well when I was working there last night. The trick is where I take somebody’s borrowed ring and “magically” stretch out and it looks like a metal rubber band but it’s really metal. Then I melt the ring back to it’s original size and hand it back to the volunteer for everything to be examined. It’s a pretty cool trick and a lot of fun to perform. I enjoy it! Here is a picture of me sitting with some of the Applebees customers after I have performed for them:
These group of guys above was watching me perform at another table and were blown away by my “bottle cap through the coke bottle” trick. So then I saw how they were enjoying watching me perform for another table that I decided to stop by their table and show them “I Name Your Card, You Name My Card” trick which is also a killer trick that fries everybody. So they thought the magic was really awesome and I asked them if it would be OK I took a picture with them and post it here to my blog. They said it was OK with them. They thought the magic was one of the coolest things they have ever seen.
I also entertained this couple as well.
I made the guy a balloon hat after showing them some magic and the lady a balloon giraffe. I also made a lot of balloon animals last night for families with kids. But I also entertain adults too. Most of the time, of course, the adults, don’t ask or want balloon animals unless they have kids. Sometimes they do though and I am happy to make them a balloon hat or a teddy bear hugging a heart for the guy’s girlfriend or wife. This particular table I entertained were so amazed by the magic they honestly where freaking out. It doesn’t show in the picture because they were more reserved for the picture. I asked them if it would be OK if I posted this picture of them to my blog as well which they said it was OK.
So, I had an awesome time last night and it was great fun! You guys need to come out and see me perform at Applebees sometime. I will be performing there again not this coming Friday but on the May 6th from 7pm-9pm. Come on out to Applebees on May 6th from 7pm-9pm, 100 Valley Drive, Perry, GA 31069 for fun, magic, balloon animals and great food. I’ll be happy to see you guys and to show you guys some really cool magic! Y’all take care!
Well it today is a big day that I really don’t know much about. It seems like it’s a day that a lot of hippies like to celebrate. So, I looked up this link right here on what “Earth Day” is all about: Information About Today. It looks like it some kind of movement. Do any of you guys celebrate this day around here? I have never celebrated it myself but I see a lot of people posting about on Facebook. Here is a quote from the link that I posted above on what Earth Day is all about:
“In 1970, the year of our first Earth Day, the movement gave voice to an emerging consciousness, channeling human energy toward environmental issues. Forty-six years later, we continue to lead with groundbreaking ideas and by the power of our example.”
So, it looks like it started in 1970 as some kind of day to be aware of how important “Mother Earth” is.
So the website continues by saying
Let’s plant 7.8 billion trees for the Earth. Let’s divest from fossil fuels and make cities 100% renewable. Let’s take the momentum from the Paris Climate Summit and build on it.
So it looks like today is a day for planting more trees to help combat climate change and global warming. I really don’t know much about the Paris Climate Summit. Let’s find out more. I looked up the Paris Climate Summit on wikipedia here:
“The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 21 or CMP 11 was held in Paris, France, from 30 November to 12 December 2015. It was the 21st yearly session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 11th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.
The conference negotiated the Paris Agreement, a global agreement on the reduction of climate change, the text of which represented a consensus of the representatives of the 196 parties attending it. The agreement will become legally binding if joined by at least 55 countries which together represent at least 55 percent of global greenhouse emissions. Such parties will need to sign the agreement in New York between 22 April 2016 (Earth Day) and 21 April 2017, and also adopt it within their own legal systems (through ratification, acceptance, approval, or accession).”
CNN’s John D Sutter wrote in his article “What’s Next For The Paris Agreement?”:
“Other such conferences have unraveled. But the agreement isn’t law yet. It must be signed and ratified by at least 55 countries representing at least 55% of global greenhouse gas emissions. When countries sign the agreement on Friday, they are signaling their intent to ratify the document as soon as possible.
So Friday’s signing ceremony is mostly symbolic, but it will indicate whether enthusiasm for the deal has continued in the months since COP21. Some 155 countries, from Somalia to Singapore, are expected to sign on Friday.”
So, it looks like the whole Paris Summit was simply about trying to get some international laws passed. But for some of these international laws to be passed at least 55 countries have represent the majority of the greenhouse emissions has to sign onto it. And even if they sign any agreement, they have to take action. Hmmmm…in my opinion, even if countries sign on to something and make it international law, that doesn’t mean that countries will still abide by it though. I mean, we see all the time where countries ignore international law when it suits their interests. So, in my view, international law today doesn’t seem to have any real teeth.
That being said, it seems that Earth Day is really important though! We all live on this planet and we do have to take care of it for ourselves and future generations! So, I think Earth Day is important and we have to take the time to do our part to take care of our wonderful planet. I sound like a hippie now don’t I? I guess, at heart, to some extent, I am a liberal hippie. I don’t know!
Got Some Replacement Material and New Magic Tricks
Well, I got some more replacement material in the mail today, so I was happy to get them! I also got a new magic trick which I am going to learn. It involves taking somebody’s ring and “magically” stretching it out. It has gotten some great reviews so I am looking forward to learning how it’s done and practicing it. Should be a lot of fun and hopefully it will be a great trick to incorporate into my paid gigs.
I also want to remind everybody that I will be performing at Applebee’s in Perry, GA tomorrow. I will be there performing at 100 Valley Drive, Perry, GA 31069 from 7pm-9pm. I will also be doing some balloon animals too. One thing I am going to do is go to Starbucks sometime tonight and do some planning time that way I can better manage my time. I downloaded a document to better help me learn how to better management my time. It’s something that is very important. I will be reading over this document when I get over to Starbucks. Might also try to practice with some of the new magic tricks I got today.
I will also want to take some time to learn the new magic trick I got too. So, I will be spending some time doing that. And of course, I am ready to learn new balloon animals as well. My hard work has paid off it seems by doing follow ups like I have been. It has gotten me more hires. I think when it comes to marketing and making a sale, persistence is key. That has how I have been doing it is remaining persistent. I found this great article on how to be persistent without annoying your prospects: How To Be Persistent Without Annoying Your Prospects.
So, for me, persistence is key in the face of adversity to making a sale and to growing a business.
