Been A Crazy Day Today!

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Just as soon as I got up in the morning I was going a hundred miles a minute!  Wife and I are getting ready to head up to Michigan to visit with my grandmother.  She is in poor health right now so we thought it important to go up and see her.  Had to run off to Enterprise Rent A Car to be sure I had a rental car ready to go for a gig this weekend that I have just before I drive off to Michigan to visit.  Then I had to run all over the place running errands and paying bills and such like we all do.  Also had to run and check the company mail too while I was at.  So, it’s just been a non-stop day. And doing other company business as well on top of that.  Should be a lot of fun and interesting to take this trip to Michigan to see my grandmother.  You know, it’s been soo long since I have been up to Michigan.  I wonder what it looks like now?

I remember when I was a kid visiting my grandparents in the 1980s and they lived on a farm and I remember all the cows.  My grandfather had passed away when I was serving a deployment with the Georgia Army National Guard in Bosnia and my company commander at the time really needed the manpower and asked me not to go.  So, I stayed with my fellow soldiers at the time.  Don’t get me wrong, I loved my grandfather, just that my buddies also needed me too and I wanted to be there to be sure everything was safe for them too.  Not that it was a bad deployment by any means.  Just wanted to do my duty as a soldier at the time and not let my unit down or my country down.

But I have fond memories of living in upstate New York in the 1980s when both my parents were in the Air Force when I was a kid back then.  We would drive through Ontario, Canada to get to Michigan much quicker.  That was before the terrorist attacks on 9/11 and America was much different back then.  Much easier back then to go to Canada and travel through there.  But today, you have to have  a passport to go to Canada.  That’s a pain.  I could get one easily, just that you have to pay all kinds of money to get a passport and wait for all the paperwork to finish processing.  Just a big hassle.  It’s not like the old days back in the 80s where you didn’t need a passport to cross the border.  Well, anyway, time to end this blog post here!

Been Playing Some Far Cry 4, Elder Scrolls Online And My Top 4 Video Games

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Yesterday, I played some Far Cry 4.  I actually enjoy Far Cry 4 a lot as you get into the game.  It’s a true open world game and plenty of side missions and main missions to play.  It seems in addition to the main missions, there are also side main missions and then true genuine side missions.  So, it’s kinda interesting how that works.  Or you just walk around in the open world of Far Cry 4 just fighting enemies or setting up ambushes and blowing stuff up.  Great loads of fun!

I also been playing Elder Scrolls Online as well.  Spent a great deal of time fighting a campaign in Cyrodil before leaving the Cyrodil and going back to the questing out of Cyrodil.  Cyrodil in the Elder Scrolls Online world is where fighting between the three alliances take place and online players can take their characters to that world to fight for their alliance against other player alliances and their characters.  Very fun and great idea by Bethesda who, from what I understand, helped make this game.

I was also wanting to share my Top 4 recommendations for video games.  They are as follows:

1)  Elder Scrolls Online

2) Witcher III

3)  Far Cry 4

4)  Battlefield 4

These are my top 4 picks for video games on the PS4.  Elder Scrolls being the first pick, Witcher III the second, Far Cry 4 the third and Battlefield 4 the fourth.  All 4 are great, fun games to play and own in my opinion.

Proud To Have Celebrated My Niece’s First Birthday Yesterday With Family!

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Yesterday,  I had some members of my family come over and celebrate my niece’s first birthday.  We had a whole bunch of people from the family come over to celebrate and many had jumped in the pool and our niece put her hands into the cake we made for her and started chowing down.  So, we had a great day spending time with family.  This blog post is going to be short because I have family that just arrived and I need to be a good host and spend time with them!

I’ll Be At Applebee’s Tonight From 7pm-9pm

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Relatives are fixing to be over here a in a few minutes to go swimming, so looking forward to seeing them.  I will also be working Applebee’s at 100 Valley Drive in Perry, GA from 7pm-9pm doing strolling close up magic.  So, if you are in the Perry or Warner Robins area, stop by and see me!  I would love to entertain you, your friends and your family!  I have a few new magic tricks as well.  Two of my newest tricks are mentalism magic.  One is about the “Dream Vacation” while another is a basic prediction that is attached to my truck keys.  It’s one of those magic tricks you can take anywhere with you and just pull your truck keys out to show somebody a quick, cool magic trick that involves a mentalism prediction.   I also use this with my restaurant magic as well as an opener before going into more in depth mentalism tricks.  Anyway, hope to see some of y’all there at Applebee’s!

Getting Ready For My Neice’s First Birthday Celebration

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Relatives will be coming over tomorrow.  Not much really to blog about today.  My relatives from the state of Tennessee are all excited about jumping swimming pool.  My mother’s house has become a popular destination since she had a pool and new deck built at her house.  I pretty much am the one who maintains the pool.  So, yesterday, worked in the hot sun scrubbing the liner down with a brush like I do every week and just kinda relaxing.  Spent most of the day getting the pool ready and today, probably just be a slow day waiting for the relatives arrive.  Probably PS4 and play Elder Scrolls Online or maybe work some more on the company outline or watch a DVD on magic to practice new moves.  Well, time to close this post here.

Won’t Be Long Before Wife And I Travel To Michigan To Visit Grandma

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

It won’t be long before the wife and I visit my grandmother in Michigan.  It will be a little less than two weeks from now.   She is about 92 years old so we think it’s important to visit her given her old age.  My wife will get the opportunity to see what’s left of the farm my mother grew up on.  Farm work is a A LOT of hard work.  They pretty much worked before sun and after sun down quite literally.  My cousin keeps an eye on my grandmother to be sure she is being taken care of by the long term care specialists that stop by her house.  The thing I am happy about is at least my grandmother will most likely never have to go to a long term care facility.  Sure will be glad to get up there and see her and all the relatives.

This will be wife’s first time visiting Michigan.  She is from Vermont and didn’t travel much until she married me, so she is pretty excited about going.  Me, I try not to travel too much because I traveled a lot as a military brat, then when I joined the Georgia Army National Guard, I was deployed to a couple of foreign countries and now my job as a magician I do a lot of traveling.  So, for me, I like to stay put when I can.  I have been been going back and forth between maintenanceing the swimming pool and checking to be sure it has correct water levels and getting ready to go to the pool store to have them test the water to coming over here to blog.  I am actually beginning to enjoy blogging a lot.  It’s really not all that bad once you get on board and start blogging.  You can pretty much blog about most anything.  Well, time to end this post here!

Work On “The Entrepreneurial Magician’s Manifesto”

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Well, I have been kind of slow in getting this “manifesto” going.  I have a basic outline done and working on a more in depth outline right now.  I am not a fan of writing reports or “manifesto” but it’s something I have to do.  If I had my way, I would simply be learning the next magic trick or improving my show or playing a video game.  But life doesn’t work that way.  So, today, I will be following up on leads and continuing to work on “the Entrepreneurial Magician’s Manifesto.”   Hopefully, it will be worth while for those who subscribe to my email list.  It’s intended to help anybody who aspires to be an entrepreneur.

Yesterday I had family come over so I wanted to be a good host and they went swimming in the swimming pool.   After they left, I had plenty of time to work on the outline, but again, I am not much of a fan of writing outlines and reports.  Writing outlines and reports can be pretty boring.  So, I kinda procrastinated on it.  Today, I won’t be procrastinating (I know, famous last words, right).  I will also be following up on some leads as well.  Got some leads right now I have to follow up on.  Anyway, time to end this blog post here!

Other Family Members Coming Over To Go Swimming In The Pool

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Well, we got some other family member who have come over to go swimming in the pool.  We had a few who are in the Air Force and stationed in Germany who are in the family and they came stateside to visit so they bought their kids over and are now having a great time swimming now in the swimming pool.  Seems like having all the family members pitch in to help get a pool and new deck built has been one of the best ideas we had in a long time.  Everybody really seems to enjoy the swimming pool.  We also have some family coming down from Tennessee to celebrate a niece’s birthday and the plan is to have everybody go swimming.  Everybody is looking forward to the swimming pool these days it seems.  I’m glad and I am happy to see everybody enjoy it.

Right now, I have some family members over, so I am trying my best to finish the morning company’s administrative work that way I can be a good host and socialize a little.  With more people coming over, I find myself dividing my attention between company and being a good host.  Probably have to delegate that task out to my wife a little more.  Company can’t make money unless I put a lot of time and effort into it!

Looking Forward To Enjoying The Weekend

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

I can’t remember the last time I had a free weekend.  This weekend it looks like I have open and free.  So, it will be a good time to catch up on some work as well as just enjoy the swimming pool or game.  I’ve gotten so used to being busy all the time that when I actually have some free time I have to learn to slow it down a little.  Besides swimming and gaming, I’ll probably just hang out with a few of my buddies and also review magician Danny Orleans DVDs on presenting magic to children and teenagers.

The weather doesn’t seem as hot right now and I guess it won’t be too hot this weekend.  I have been doing a good job of keeping up with the maintenance on the family swimming pool. It also won’t be long before the wife and I travel up to Michigan to visit with my grandmother.  Like I said in a previous blog post, she’s getting old and is about 92 years old right now.  However, I think out of respect to my grandmother, it’s important to see and visit with her.  This will be my wife’s first time going up to Michigan to see my mother’s side of the family.   So she is looking forward to it as well.  It will also give us the opportunity to visit with my cousins and their families too.  Should be an interesting trip.
