Heading Up To Atlanta And Watching Paranormal Witness

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Heading up to Atlanta tomorrow morning to pick up a friend.  I enjoy the road trip and it will be cool to see an old friend as well.  I also been watching a TV series called “Paranormal Witness”  on my wife’s Kindle (Netflix application).  Pretty entertaining TV series and the Kindle Fires are handy little tablets.  The last episode I watched was where some family had crazy “paranormal activity” in their house where various objects in the house were thrown about.  Another one of my favorite TV series is History Channel’s Famous Tank Battles (I think that is what it is called) so I have been watching some of those episodes as well where most of them have been on World War II tank battles between the Germans and Western allies in France and close by Germany.   That’s a good TV series as well.  Anyway, it’s getting close to time for me to get some sleep, so, I’ll holler at everybody later!

Won’t Be Long Before Christmas

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

It’s not going to be long before it’s Christmas time.  That means anybody or any business throwing a Christmas party for their employees should think about doing something cool by hiring some magical entertainment for that Christmas party!  I love Christmas time and enjoy driving around the neighborhood with my wife and checking out all the Christmas decorations and the lights that people put up.  I reckon that’s an art in and of itself.  I have also been considering some things to get my wife for Christmas.  Of course, I can’t write what is on the blog, otherwise my wife could read the blog and know what she is getting for Christmas and it won’t be a surprise.  Maybe it’s a little early considering the fact that it’s still October and not even mid or the end of November yet.  Well, y’all take care and have a good night!

The Creativity Lab and Developing A Close Up Show

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Nothing like spending the day in the creativity lab and coming up with something new and different for a client.  Enjoy coming up with something new and creative.  I have also been further developing my close up show and got some tips from fellow magicians.  The big recommendation I got was not to go with a close up table for a close up show, but instead go with a close up case that best suits my show.  So, right now, my main focus is to develop the show and then afterwards, look for a great close up case that will go with the show.  I have picked out some great opening tricks that will catch the attention of the audience and I have also picked out tricks for the 2nd, 3rd and most of the 4th part of the act as well as one trick for the 5th part of the act.  Now, what I need to do is sit down and write about the theme I am going to talk about in the 2nd part of the act and how I could use that for dialogue with my audience.   This will be challenging and fun!

Spent Time Putting Together Full Fledged Close Up Show

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Sat down today and wrote down all the various magic tricks I am good at doing.  Then, I looked at the traditional way of putting together a magic act.  I decided to divide the act up in 5 different sections.  I think the theme of this particular show should be “Nothing Is Impossible.”  As a bonus gift, I am also thinking about offering the “Nothing Is Impossible” milk carton bottle to my customers and it goes well with the theme of the magic show.   The first part of the act is to capture the attention of the audience.  I got several ways I can do this and I will be prepared to do capture their attention right off the bat.  Pretty excited about it as well.  The other 4 parts of the act is a dialogue with the audience which will probably center around the theme of “Nothing is Impossible” while also doing a few magic tricks.   The 3rd part of the act will be some of the more awesome close up magic tricks.  By putting some really awesome magic tricks in this part of the show, you keep the audience’s attention but you are not putting your best here because you want to save that one for the closer.  The 4th one will be some of the tricks that are almost my best but not my show stopper.  Than of course, the final 5th part of the act will have my show stopper trick.  I already have an idea of which trick that is going to be.  Pretty excited.  I will need to work hard and practice and rehearse all of this.

Visiting At The VFW and Performing At Applebee’s

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician , Special Offers

Spent today, practicing and visiting with fellow veterans at the VFW.  Also took the opportunity to perform a few magic tricks just to entertain them a little bit, then sat down for a glass of red wine to talk and visit.  Afterwards, went to my gig at Applebees.  The bending fork was the best trick that people really enjoyed the most, followed by the coin through the steel block.  I was surprised that the bending fork topped all the tricks I performed.  I wasn’t expecting that, but it seems the crowd really enjoyed the performance of that trick the most.

Another idea, I am thinking about doing, as a bonus gift, is offering “The Anything Is Possible Bottle” to those who hire me.  I think that would be great and people would really enjoy this bottle plus remember my performance and keep in mind that their is no such thing as impossible.  It speaks to one of the great things of magic:  mystery, amazement, astonishment and the notion that nothing is impossible and that anything can be done if you put your mind to it.  That’s why, I think this would be a great gift.  Anyway, time for me to split!  Y’all take care!

Getting Better With the Fork Bending Trick

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

One of my great magic tricks is a fork bending trick.  I have been performing it for my friends and family and I now do it very well.  Excellent trick that I really enjoy.  I wouldn’t mind constructing a whole routine centered around fork bending while using this trick as a closer to it.  People would absolutely love it!  I get very good reactions with this particular trick, so why not do a whole fork bending routine.  Should be very good for restaurants.

Tomorrow, I will be performing at Applebee’s in Macon, GA from 6pm-8pm!  I have some great new tricks besides the fork bending trick.  I strongly encourage people to come over to 2574 Riverside Dr, Macon GA for some really amazing magic and great food.   I promise, you won’t be disappointed!

Do Nothing Sunday, Just Relax and Enjoying Some Free Time

By Davenport Magical Entertainment, L.L.C. | Atlanta Magician

Well, today is a typical Sunday for me.  It is a day to simply relax and enjoy myself and not work.  I reckon it’s an American tradition to relax on a Sunday and just enjoy yourself and be happy.  My wife and I went over to Starbucks and ordered ourselves one of their healthy breakfast sandwiches along with a cup of bold coffee.  There is nothing I enjoy more than going over to a Starbucks and sitting down in a nice comfortable chair and drinking a straight black bold coffee.  I even did a few magic tricks for some of the customers and employees of Starbucks.  I also practiced a magic trick involving metal bending.  My presentation has gotten much better.  You have to really think about your presentation when it comes to the metal bending routines when you are trying to make them amazing to an audience.  I reckon that’s part of the beauty of them.
